Heath Bar Apple Dip

apple dip 1.JPG

I am such a sucker for Heath bars. I love the toffee bits mixed into my ice cream, crunched up on candy apples, but especially mixed into this apple dip. We make this dip with Reeses sometimes too- but the way the caramel from the Heath dissolves in the cream cheese, makes this pretty phenomenal.

Heath Bar Apple Dip

Ingredients:

2 (8oz) packages of cream cheese

1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter

1/2 tsp vanilla

1 cup brown sugar

1 - 1 1/2 cups Heath Bits* (I like the ones coated in chocolate the best. I find them in the baking aisle near the chocolate chips)

granny smith apples, sliced

Place your cream cheese and butter in a microwave safe bowl. Heat in the microwave until the butter is softened. Add sugar and vanilla. Blend together until it’s nice and smooth and the sugar is well blended. Add the Heath bits and mix it again.

And that’s it!! It’s so simple. This dip is always a huge hit as an appetizer or a dessert when we go to parties around the holidays. It tastes even better if you let it sit in the fridge for awhile. Chilling it makes the texture amazing.

*If you can’t find Heath bits, crunch up a Heath Bar, Skor bar or English Toffee.

Enjoy!!
