Easy Ways to Give Aid to Refugees (Episode #161)

The refugee crisis has weighed heavy on my heart. I am so grateful for those of you who came together with us for our Neighborhood Moms Bake Sale to Raise money for the Afghan Refugees back in August. With just a handful of moms baking delicious breads and treats, we were able to raise $1,000 in a weekend. It helped me realize with a little bit of effort, we can make a huge difference!

We have been so blessed to have Kaitlin Roberson from Refugee Services Texas on the podcast today to talk with us about easy ways we can give aid to refugees.

Refugee Services of Texas welcomes refugees, asylees, survivors of trafficking and other displaced peoples, and supports them in integrating and thriving in their new communities.

December is such a wonderful time to give to those around us. Learn some easy ways you can participate with your family by listening to this episode.

Show Notes:

What is a refugee? A refugee is a person fleeing from their country and cannot return because their life is at risk or could be seriously harmed. Sometimes they have been forced out. Other times they may be fleeing because they are in danger because of their political affiliation, membership in a certain social group, race, nationality or religion.

What does Refugee Services of Texas do? Serves refugees, asylees, individuals with Special Immigrant Visas, Cuban-Haitian entrants, Central American minors, survivors of human trafficking, and other vulnerable populations. In addition, RST works to facilitate partnerships with host communities to build a welcoming environment.
