Bake Sale Fundraiser to Help Afghan Refugees

7 delicious bundt cake recipes - helping of happiness - freebie library- pin.png

My heart has been torn in pieces watching and reading the news this week about the refugees fleeing Afghanistan. I have felt helpless, sad, and guilty for being so blessed for the freedoms and luxuries I have in my life. Last night I couldn’t take it anymore and decided I needed to do something about it!

I got on the Refugee Services of Texas website (I receive their newsletter and have had some great experiences working with them in the past). At this moment, there are 324 Afghan Refugees in Dallas that are resettling. I found several opportunities to donate for basic needs such as: Urgent Care visit, Groceries, Technology Access, ESL, Rent, etc.

I was just about to hit the donate button to give a little something from my family. But I was overwhelmed when I looked at all the needs and felt like what I was contributing was just a tiny drop in the bucket. That is when I got the idea of involving some friends, and having a bake sale to pull our resources and really make a big difference.

These delicious treats have been baked with love by some of my friends that I know have amazing skills in the kitchen. You’ll even notice some premium items donated by prestigious bakers. We are so grateful for every bit of help!! I

All items are local pick up (North Dallas) between 1-4pm Saturday, August 21st. All proceeds will go directly to Refugees Services of Dallas for the basic needs I mentioned above. If you do not live local and/or you’d like to donate even more directly, here is the link to RST donations.

grab the freebie below!!

UPDATE to this post!!!!

We were able to SELL OUT of all our treats and earn $1,000 for the Afghan Refugees settling in the Dallas area. We feel so grateful to all who helped make this possible. Thank you very much for helping us make a small difference in the world!
