Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip cookies are my favorite treat. Well, let's say they are tied with ice cream. Or let's just put them together!! I have no problem eating half the batch. (If they even make it to the baked stage. The dough is my favorite part!!) One of my solutions to this problem is to just leave enough cookies for everyone in my family to have one, and I give the rest away. There are so many people in my life that I appreciate, and I need to show them more often.
Today I needed to get some of these cookies out of my house and decided to give a big THANK YOU to our orthodontist's office: Corbridge Orthodontics. They have done (or are in the process right now) braces for 3 of my kids, and I am going through Invisalign right now. (I'll show you the before and after when my treatments are finished.) They are so patient and sweet when the kids have been wearing their bands the wrong way (for 8 weeks AHHHH!!! Kids!!), or chew up their retainers, or brake off a bracket. Their whole staff is kind and friendly. We feel like family every time we go. So from one mom to another, when you have found awesome healthcare, you want to spread the word about it. If you life in or near Frisco, Texas- go see these guys. They are the best!! Anyway- you'll notice in the pictures some of them just have white chocolate chips. Dr. Corbridge is not a huge chocolate fan, so we made a batch with just white chocolate chips so he could enjoy some, too. My favorite way to have these cookies is to have a mix of the white, milk and semi sweet chocolate. Now onto the recipe!!
Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup crisco shortening
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 TBSP PB2 peanut butter powder (optional)
1 1/2- 1 3/4 cups flour
2 cups your favorite chocolate chips
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Mix together everything except for the flour and chocolate chips. Once it is nice and creamy, add the flour and mix again. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes until golden around the edges.
