Fabulous 4th of July: printables, recipes & patriotic travel guides

I am so grateful to live in the United States of America. I love my country. I love visiting different National Monuments and honoring those who have stood for freedom through the centuries.

One of my favorite places to visit is the Statue of Liberty (more about our visit here). There is a beautiful poem on the pedestal of Lady Liberty by Emma Lazarus:

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Isn’t it beautiful? It reminds me of how we should all be. Opening our hearts, our minds and our homes to those who need us. I loved it so much, I made a few printables that I wanted to make available to you! Click on the images to print.

Happy Independence Day! Keep reading for some fun patriotic treats and travel guides to some of our favorite iconic stops in the USA.
