Christmas time is here and it is sooo fun to be together, but it’s often hard to figure out how to keep all different ages engaged and entertained. Bringing people together is about more than just being in the same room—it’s about creating shared moments, laughter, and connection!!
This collection of large group games is designed to turn gatherings into meaningful experiences where everyone feels included. From high-energy competitions like Rock Paper Scissors tournaments and Christmas Tree Pong to teamwork-focused favorites like Bunco, Speed Scrabble, and The Family Game, these activities encourage interaction, friendly competition, and togetherness. Perfect for holiday parties, family reunions, church events, or classroom celebrations, these games help break the ice, spark conversation, and remind us that the best memories are made when we play together.

Reindeer Games:
Rock Paper Scissors Tournament
Divide your group in half and have two sets of Rock Paper Scissors going at the same time. Best out of 3 wins. The losers are out and become the audience. The people that lose to you become your cheerleaders. You can even go the extra mile and make this into a Rock Paper Scissors bracket. Winner gets gets a prize.
Party Blower Competition
On a table, line up solo cups parallel to each other (the same amount on each side). Place a cotton ball or a large marshmallow on top of each cup. A contestant lines up on each side, and both have a party blower. Whoever blows their cotton ball (or marshmallows) off first wins!
Play bunco!
Bunco is a fun, fast paced dice game. For the set up you will need 3 tables, 3 dice for each table, score sheets and pencils.
Grab score sheets in our Freebie Library in the Home Hacks> Family Printables section. You can have prizes for the high score, most buncos, and biggest loser. For the full rules, go here!
Christmas Tree Pong
Set up some green solo cups into the shape of a Christmas tree. Put a small prize in each cup, such as a quarter, a dollar, toy or gift card. Have players line up with ping pong balls and see what cups they can toss their balls in and claim their prizes.
Team Speed Scrabble
Begin in teams. You need two games of scrabble to have enough letters. Divide into teams and see who can use up their letters first. The winning team divides up for the final round and plays each other as singles.
Lego Pictionary
Get out your legos and people have to guess what you are building. This game can be slower paced, but is fun for lego enthusiasts. You can have a timer for building time where each person is working on their own construction. Make sure every one writes down on a paper what they were building before the guessing begins to keep those cheaters in check. ;)
Name That Tune - Christmas Songs
Grab a buzzer, a fun Christmas song list, and see who is best at naming the Christmas song.
Christmas Bow Memory
You need pairs of Christmas bows. Set them under solo cups to create a memory game. To make it even more tricky. Set the bows/cups on boxes and spin the boxes between turns.
The Family Game
We play this every time we have a large family gathering. You’ll need one caller and all the players need to secretly write a name or a word on a slip of paper. The caller will collect the strips and anonymously read off the words or names on the papers. Players have to guess who said which name. When they guess correctly, the person who was guessed joins the guesser’s “family”. The game continues until there is only one person left who hasn’t been guessed.
Don’t drop the wrapping paper!
Players stand in a circle, each with a roll of wrapping paper. They run in a circle and try to keep their wrapping paper roll from falling over. If your roll falls, you’re out. Last player standing wins.
Colored Paper Slap
Put out 2 sets of the same four colors. A caller will shout out colors and the players face off and can slap any color except for the one called.
Red Light Green Light Line Up
Put a line of painters tape on the ground and put a red solo cup on one side and a red solo cup on the other. Have players line up and jump from side to side depending on what color the caller shouts out. Whoever moves to the wrong side of the line is out. Continue until there is one person standing.
Tenzi Dice Game
Our kids love playing this game. Each player has a set of 10 dice, and you have a Tenzi deck of cards telling you different challenges or patterns you have to replicate. Whoever completes the card first collects the card. Player with the most cards at the end of the time limit wins.
Fishing for Candy Canes
Tie a string around each players waist with a candy cane tied to the other end, dangling like a hook. Lay out extra candy canes on the floor or propped up in a bucket. Whoever hooks the most candy canes wins.
Reindeer Games Prize Punch Board
To make the games even more fun, we created a punch board with prizes inside such as candy, money, snacks and gift cards! Have fun!!!
