I love the special spirit that fills the air at Christmas, as we are all doing better to be more like our Savior, giving more whether that be with physical gifts, or gifts of time and love. On today’s podcast I want to take you back in time to the Depression Era to listen to some of the amazing little miracles that ordinary people performed. Little quiet acts of service that brought tremendous joy during an extremely hard time in our country. My dad, Jeffrey Peters, tells some stories about his dad and his grandfather that show the true meaning of Christmas.

Shownotes:

Christmas is the best. I love the extra time with family and friends, watching the magic in my children’s eyes, and seeing the miracles that come from little acts of service.

I’d like to invite you to join me and my family in participating in #LightTheWorld. #Light the World is an invitation to transform Christmas into a season of service. Join us as we follow the example of Jesus Christ by ministering to others one by one—just like He did. Head over to ComeUntoChrist.org and sign up for daily texts with service prompts. Or watch and amazing video about the Christ Child. I love the Giving Vending Machines they have placed in 10 different locations where you can buy items for people in need instead of the usual junk food or soda pop.

#Light the World has become a treasured tradition for our family for several years now. It makes us all less focused on the getting at Christmas, brings a sweeter feeling into our home and reminds us to look to Jesus Christ in our daily life.
