I have learned through the years that I am often my own worst critic. I can be much harder on myself than I am on others. And I get really tired of feeling this way. That is why I am so happy that today, Niki Olsen @NikiOlsenCoaching , mental health therapist from Utah, teaches us through how to have more self compassion.

Niki takes us through an exercise to see ourselves in a more positive way and gives us tools for managing negative thoughts. She teaches us that opposition is normal and an important part of our lives, but that we have a choice of how to react to it.

Niki talks to us about how there is opposition in all things. Without opposition we wouldn’t have the opportunity to make a choice. The reason we were putting on this earth was to practice making good choices, to prove to our Heavenly Father that we want to be good.

That internal opposition is called our identity system. When this system doesn’t meet it’s goals in a specific, ideal way, it starts to tell us there is something wrong with us. We have a natural ability to have self compassion, but we access that when our identity system is asleep.

We aren’t getting rid of opposition. There will always be opposition. There will always be challenges and trials in our lives. What Niki is teaching us is how to manage our identity systems. Niki uses Mind Body Bridging to do this.

Niki walks us through the process of how to do this. You can print the freebie below!! This is the hand out we went through on the interview during the interactive portion:
