Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients:

Bread Dough (Use our homemade roll recipe here!! It’s AMAZING!!)

1 1/2 cup apples, chopped (skinned & cored) - I like to use Granny Smiths or Pink Lady varieties

1/2 cup butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar

1 TBSP cinnamon

1/2 cup pecans, chopped (optional)

Caramel topping (recipe below)

Directions:

Start out with some bread dough. I always use the same dough that I use to make my dinner rolls. The cinnamon rolls come out amazing.

Roll out your dough till it's about 1- 1.5 inches thick. Spread the butter all over the top. Sprinkle 1 cup brown sugar on top. Next, sprinkle 1 TBSP cinnamon all over it. Lastly, sprinkle with 1 1/2 cups chopped apples (if using pecans, sprinkle them on top after the apples).

Roll dough and filling up into a big long log. (See YouTube Short HERE and videos below to get a better idea of what I'm talking about.) Next take a bit of thread or dental floss and cut the dough tube into circles. Place on a greased pan.

Preheat the oven to 375. Bake 15-20 minutes. Mine bake perfect at 17 minutes, but every oven is different.

While the cinnamon rolls are baking, mix up your caramel topping.

When the cinnamon rolls are done cooking, let them cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Drizzle with caramel topping just before serving.

Caramel Topping

INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 cups sugar

3/4 cup milk

1/2 cup butter

3 TBSP corn syrup

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp lemon juice

1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

Combine milk and lemon juice. Let sit for 5 minutes while you get the other ingredients together. Put sugar, milk mixture, butter, corn syrup and baking soda in a medium to large pot. Bring to a boil on medium high heat, stirring constantly and cook for 8-10 minutes. It will be super bubbly. Cook until it’s a gorgeous golden brown, about 8 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract.
